About counselling with Dawn Davies Therapy
I am a qualified BACP registered counsellor, providing online therapy throughout the UK, in my private practice, and in-person therapy in Herefordshire and Worcestershire at a charitable organisation.
My approach is to bring warmth and curiosity into our work together, with the goal of deeply understanding you in the context of your unique life experiences. I focus on facilitating a supportive space where you can explore and process complex issues, relationships and emotions.
Together, we look to identify what's standing in the way of your wellbeing. By raising awareness and understanding of self, I support you to develop the self-compassion and clarity needed to advocate for your needs, put appropriate boundaries in place and live more of the life you want to.
While we may explore and process pain, my practice is also a place for celebration and joy too. All of you, is welcome.
Is counselling with Dawn Davies Therapy right for you?
I work with clients seeking to:
Understand themselves better within the context of their life experiences, upbringing and culture - and how this impacts on feelings and behaviours in the present.
Understand what their deepest needs are and how to advocate for those needs within the family, at work and within their communities.
Process painful, often barrier-promoting experiences from the past, to feel freer and create more opportunity for choice and autonomy in their present and future.
Work with someone who will 'hold' them as they explore the often challenging, yet affirming process of understanding and connecting with their true, authentic self.
Be with someone who can gently challenge thinking patterns which keep barriers in place to personal growth.
Support navigating these issues and more
*stress * burnout * anxiety * low self-esteem * feeling stuck/ lost * unhappy in yourself or a relationship * past sexual/domestic abuse * sexual or gender identity * family dynamics * exploring overall identity and connection with others * processing childhood experiences *
My values - in and out of the counselling room
Striving for and promoting an anti-oppressive counselling practice reflects my core values of fairness, justice, collaboration, autonomy-within-connection and embracing difference. I am committed to respecting and understanding you through your unique perspective and intersectional identity. You define who you are.
